Hillside Herbs offers a custom gardening service for the environmentally concerned client. Deborah and Hope have been gardening and landscaping professionally for twelve years. We use organic methods to ensure the safety of you, your family, and your pets, and to preserve the quality of our watershed. Our mission is to create gardens that heal – heal the body, the mind, and the spirit. We can tailor a medicinal garden to meet your specific health needs and then teach you to create your own medicine from the plants. Or perhaps you’ve been dreaming of your own organic vegetable garden? We can design it and plant it for you using principles of permaculture.
Permaculture is a word that you may be hearing more and more often. So what is it? It’s a way of life, of design, of method that makes our time on this earth more sustainable. With it we can reduce our carbon footprint, reduce waste, reduce pollution, reduce labor, and in doing so rebuild our communities and local economies. In permaculture our goal is to efficiently create “stacking functions” making sure that everything serves more than one purpose. 
As certified permaculture designers Hope and Deborah can design your home landscape to benefit your needs as well as being beautiful and eco-friendly. We love using herbs and edible plants to create low maintenance gardens that fill your pantry as well as your soul.
Our experience in estate gardening is broad. Our former rock musician client LeRoi Moore said, “You guys are the bomb!” He kept us busy in his garden for twelve years because he wanted it all. We can do any of this for you too.
